Bram Stoker's Dracula: Sucking Through the Century, 1897-1997by Carol Margaret Davison (Editor), Paul Simpson-Housley (Editor) A collection of fifteen scholarly essays that examine Dracula both in the context of its own time, and as it is interpreted and read in a century later in a very different culture. Although sometimes dense going, the essays represent some of the best authorities in the field, including Margaret Carter, Benjamin H. Leblanc, and Stephanie Moss. The final section of the book covers Dracula-related organizations and gives a bibliography of related non-fiction. A valuable work for those interested in Dracula or vampire literature in general.
